There are some attractive picks this weekend!

As we mentioned before, this is the worst week for competitive college football. Numerous embarrassing games around the country and no top 25 matchups. However, there was no shortage of good wages and after reviewing all the data, the computerized printouts and looking at countless hours of film, we come up with some attractive picks.

Pitt at Penn State (-17). The Nittany Lions just have too much talent here. The Panthers lost to an average Virginia team this year and have not shown anything offensively. This is the one hundredth and perhaps last time these two teams will meet. Very sad. It’s also very sad this will not be competitive. Lay the 17 points on Penn State for four units.

Stanford (+7) at Central Florida. KJ Costello is back to quarterback for the Cardinal. That will make a huge difference. This is a statement game fir Central Florida and although I think they may win, the points are too attractive. Three units on Stanford to cover.

Iowa at Iowa State. Basically, a pick’em game. This game is historically close it will be close again. However, Iowa State has the horses on offense, and I expect them to prevail since this game is in Ames. Three units on the cyclones.

No. 1 Clemson (-24) at Syracuse. This was supposed to be the game of the year for the Orange but after last week’s slaughter at Maryland, reality has set in. Clemson is just too good. They also play better on the road. It will be a methodical victory. Four units on the Tigers.

No. 4 Oklahoma (-17) at UCLA. Ordinarily, this would be a marquee matchup. But Chip Kelly of UCLA has already lost the locker room. Season-ticket holders at UCLA are being offered four free tickets because nobody is interested. Three units on the Sooners to cover.

No. 9 Florida at Kentucky (+9 1/2). The only lock of the day. Kentucky is a solid team. They have weapons on offense and defense and a good coach in Mark Stoops. The Gators are good, but I am not sold on their quarterback Feleipe Franks. Even though they are ranked in the top 10, they have not been that impressive and I think this game will be a close. Lock of the day for five units on the Wildcats.
